In this iteration of the sketchbook series, we will talk about how to make compelling and interesting imagery using pen & ink. Because ink does not have the color variations that some other mediums do, we will lean into the opportunity to explore various types of mark making and render shape and form with techniques such as stippling, cross-hatching, and linework. You will learn how to pare down your drawing to its most essential elements for this technique. And along the way, discover more about your personal style of drawing!

Maximum of 8 students. Three 3 hour sessions

*To reserve your place in any class, payment must be received at the time of registration.

*For a refund on any of our classes, we will need to be notified at least 48 hours in advance of the first class.

    MATERIAL LIST

    · A sketchbook! - 9x12 Drawing is my favorite, but bring whatever you have!

    · Pencils – for sketching, whatever you reach for first. Mechanical is ok too

    · Inking Pens – Micron and Le Pen are both excellent. You’ll want a variety of sizes but I recommend at least 3: 0.3, 0.8, and “10.” If you have other juicy inking pens you like, bring those too!

    · Eraser – I like white plastic the best
