    This mini workshop expands abstract vocabulary through combining collage with paint. We'll create a stash of hand painted papers on a variety of surfaces, including specialty papers and repurposed book pages, then arrange these papers, puzzle-like, into abstract compositions. Elements of chance and intention merge in this format. We'll draw, scribble mark-up and select found images to combine in a final composition or two. A fun, inspirational, low-pressure day of art making with like minded artists. Maximum 8 students. One 6-hour session.

    REQUIRED MATERIALS LIST:

    PLEASE HAVE:
    4-6 colors of water based paint (acrylic, gouache, watercolor)

    1 FW acrylic ink (black/ sepia/ antelope brown)

    selection of drawing tools; pencils, crayons, oil pastels, charcoal etc.

    2 wood panels (your choice of size, no larger than 18" x 18")

    1 rubber brayer

    gel medium, scissors, paint brushes, spray bottle, paper towel

    used books and magazines to repurpose + photocopies if you like
