The beauties of having a sketchbook practice are numerous: having a place to document day to day life, a low-pressure way to improve your drawing, a place to keep ephemera, a carry-all for lists, you name it! But sometimes it can be hard to just begin. So, if you’ve recently made or bought a sketchbook, and aren’t quite sure how to fill it, or if you’ve been wanting to start up a regular sketchbook practice and don’t quite know how, consider joining us for this course! You will learn a handful of helpful exercises, activities, and small practices that will help you ease into a more regular practice of drawing and creating within a sketchbook. This class also functions as sort of a beginning drawing course, where we will experiment with a different broad subject each week and figure out how to render things convincingly, within whatever theme the class decides!Maximum of 8 students. Four 3 hour sessions

*To reserve your place in any class, payment must be received at the time of registration.

*For a refund on any of our classes, we will need to be notified at least 48 hours in advance of the first class.

    • A sketchbook!
      • Any size is good, although I always recommend larger rather than smaller
    • Paper type can also vary, if you have Mixed Media that is best, but don’t worry too much about buying something completely new if you have one you enjoy already
    • Pencil and eraser for sketching
    • Other drawing materials you’re comfortable with (colored pencil, marker, pen, etc)
    • Any other materials you think would be fun to play with!
