Join us for an inspiring look at Georgia O’Keeffe—an artist who reshaped American modern art with her bold flowers, desert landscapes, and love of natural forms. In the 1920s, she became the first woman to gain major recognition in New York’s art world, though she insisted on being known simply as an artist. As she reminded us, “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not."
In this relaxed, hands-on class, we will take time to explore O’Keeffe’s life and artistic vision while experimenting with watercolor. Using natural shapes and colors as inspiration, you’ll create your own abstract pieces and enjoy a supportive space for creative expression.
