WATERCOLOR AND ABSTRACTION 2: EMPHASIS ON COMPOSITION (with zoom) In this class students will work abstractly using watercolors, with a concentrated focus on composition. Composition is the structure that holds it all together and a fundamental component to any work of art. We will address the unique nature of watercolor that allows you to build your composition using layers, while still keeping the process open and intuitive. The class will have exercises and structured time to guide you to a better understanding of how to consider composition from the start. The prerequisite for this class is the beginning watercolor class or some basic watercolor experience, and a desire to work abstractly. While helpful to have taken the beginning abstraction class entitled Watercolor and Abstraction, it is not directly related or a prerequisite for this class. Our class will be on Zoom, a video chat software that is really easy to use. Just download the app on your device (desktop computer, laptop, or tablet). I will provide you with a link before class time. Click on it when class begins, and you are in! Maximum of 8 students. Four 2.5-hour sessions.
