TUESDAYS 5/7, 5/14, 5/21 & 5/28 1:30 p.m. - 4:00p.m
In this class you will learn about the basic tools and techniques that are essential to every beginning acrylic painter. Starting with the basics of color mixing, we will then explore how to use color to suggest space and volume in your work. Each week we will begin with a simple still life to paint from while learning how to compose and complete a finished painting. Basic drawing knowledge is helpful. Class limited to six student
Four 2 1/2 hour sessions.

Palette Paper pad 9" x 12"
Palette knife- Medium size
Small spray bottle
Brushes: - #2 round, #4 Bright and or #6 Bright acrylic brushes (long handled)
(options- Connoisseur-hog bristle, white taklon or pure synthetic)
Paint: We will start out mixing our colors.*(You may want to purchase
more paint as we get further into the class.)
(I recommend M.Graham or Golden Acrylic Paint)
Hansa Yellow Med.
Napthol Red
Ultramarine Blue
Titanium White
Surfaces: Choose between the following:
Canvas Pad 9" x 12"
Canvas Boards 9" x 12 or
8" x 10"
Cloth rags or shop towels
Apron or old shirt to protect your clothes
small table top easel (needs to be stable)

Acrylic medium
water containers
some canvas pad paper (canvas pad will be provided for the first class)
Barrier cream for your hands
Boards to adhere your paper/canvas to
Still life materials

**For a refund on any of our classes, we will need to be notified at least two days in advance of the first class. Please contact us by phone or in person to guarantee that you get refunded for the class you are canceling. Oregon Art Supply does not keep any personal credit information on file and therefore cannot process your refund by email.

*Free parking is available on Saturdays and Sundays in the parking structure behind our store (street level; enter on 10th).

During the week there are six metered spots on the west wall of the 10th Street Parking Garage. If you need alternate/cheaper parking, there is the Overpark garage one block from the store (enter on Oak, just north of 10th).
