Composition magic: we know it when we see it, but what makes it happen? Why are black and white sketches a good way to plan works in color? How does a viewfinder work? During this 4-hour class, Sarah will give you tips on design, and share her fun technique for value studies using black and white markers on toned tan paper. Plan images that grab the viewer’s eye, and learn a new way to sketch! We will begin with a slide show for inspiration, and create several compositions, working from photo reference. All experience levels welcome. Materials provided. One four-hour session. Maximum of 6 students.
