We’ve all heard the old adage “there are no mistakes in art,” but when you have a great plan for a piece and something abruptly goes sideways, that advice never seems particularly helpful. In this class, you will learn how to pivot when things don’t quite go as planned, and how to take “mistakes” in your stride. Sometimes they can even make a piece better! We’ll work through a handful of activities that will help you establish a positive foundation when it comes to approaching your work, and increase your compassion for yourself as an artist along the way. Four 3-hour sessions.
Maximum of 8 students. Four 3 hour sessions

*To reserve your place in any class, payment must be received at the time of registration.

*For a refund on any of our classes, we will need to be notified at least 48 hours in advance of the first class.

    MATERIAL LIST

*I’ve listed my recommendations here but I am very flexible in terms of what “type” of each material you get. The item in bold is the necessity and if you have something in that category, bring it along! You can always get something else with your 20% discount at the store if your item doesn’t work.

    · A sketchbook! - 9x12 Drawing is my favorite

    · A piece you made that you see a “mistake” in or don’t like the outcome of – a printed copy is fine if its large, but ideally it’s already a page in your sketchbook

    · Whatever supplies you usually use to make your art – with the sole exception of oil paint because it requires so much set up
